• What is formaldehyde and where does it come from?

  Formaldehyde is a colorless gas with a strong odor. It is commonly found in many building and furnishing materials such as plywood, particle board, and fiberboard. It is also present in adhesives, coatings, paints, and varnishes—especially after renovations or new furniture installations.

• Why is formaldehyde harmful?

  Exposure to formaldehyde may cause:

  • Irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat
  • Respiratory discomfort, including coughing and wheezing
  • Skin irritation and allergic reactions

  Prolonged exposure has also been linked to an increased risk of certain cancers, such as nasopharyngeal cancer.

• Does ventilation help remove formaldehyde?

  Ventilation is important and does help. However, without proper treatment, the removal process can be very slow—sometimes taking several months—because furniture and materials continue releasing formaldehyde over time.

• What exactly do you treat?

  We address all three main types of formaldehyde (VOCs) commonly found indoors after renovation:

  1. Free Formaldehyde – Airborne formaldehyde released from painting and carpentry works
  2. Surface Formaldehyde – Residue found on surfaces after renovation
  3. Releasable Formaldehyde – Emitted over time from adhesives and bonding materials used in furniture
• How does your treatment work?

  We use specialized solutions that actively neutralize and “consume” VOCs.

  Our process focuses on:

  • Reducing and slowing down formaldehyde emissions at the source (your furniture and materials)

  Yes, absolutely. Our solutions are food-grade certified and are safe for children and pets. You can have peace of mind during and after treatment.

• How long does the treatment last?

  Our treatment comes with a 1-year warranty. It is a one-time application that typically takes 2–3 hours, depending on the space.
  For best results, treatment is recommended after renovations are completed and furniture is installed, but before moving in.

• Can ozone machines or air purifiers do the same job?

  Ozone machines:

  While ozone can reduce formaldehyde levels, it produces ozone gas, which is harmful to health. Ozone exposure can damage airways, cause coughing, chest pain, shortness of breath, and worsen asthma—similar to a sunburn inside the lungs.

  Air purifiers:

  Air purifiers can help improve air quality, but:

  • They only cover a limited area
  • Filters require frequent replacement
  • Most importantly, they do not stop formaldehyde emissions at the source

  Your furniture and materials will continue releasing formaldehyde unless properly treated.

• Does carbon monoxide have a smell?

  No, carbon monoxide is odorless. It is best to have carbon monoxide detectors in your home and workplace. If all or many people in your home experience similar symptoms at the same time, you should suspect the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning. These symptoms may include headache, weakness, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, disorientation, lethargy, and loss of consciousness.
